Online only streaming providers for German TV
In addition, there are some online services that offer German TV shows and German Movies similar to how HULU or Netflix works. In general, they are an on-demand streaming service and I have watched several for free. Although this may change over time and they may charge for content in the future.

Paid German TV in the US
The following paid services are available for German TV online or on TV.

Currently, they offer a 90-day free trial and have a huge online library of German shows and movies as well as live streaming. Furthermore, they have packages that start at $14.99 every 30 days and go up to $29.99 every 30 days. Also, discounts are given for paying 90 or 365 days in advance.
German TV on Hulu
(starts at $5.99 monthly and goes up to $50.99)
From what I have found, there is no German TV on Hulu. In other words, the service is only offered for the US with most of the content tailored to this market. There are some German-made shows with some good ratings like Deutschland 83 and Deutschland 86 but no German language content. There is a small shimmer of hope since they offer an add-on for Spanish and maybe if we get lucky they will hopefully add a German add-on.
German TV on Netflix

With Netflix, you’ll find lots of international content. From what I could dig up, German TV on Netflix is being expanded. It is not a place where you’ll find lots of German content and I would not get Netflix for that reason alone but if you already have an account it’s worth digging in their international catalog.
