Christkindlmarkt in Helen, Georgia

This is one of the more well-known German Christmas Markets in the South and is sponsored by their Chamber of Commerce. Helen is a small Bavarian-themed village. The activities commence with a Parade of Lanterns ending with hot cocoa and s’mores around a bonfire.  There is also a breakfast with Der Weihnachtsmann, bring toys for the children. There are vendors with German crafts and food and drink.  They also have performances and many fun activities. Fabulous time guaranteed for all!

Christkindl Market in Denver, Colorado

This market offers a “Kinderpunsch,” a non-alcoholic Glühwein, making this market very family friendly.  1515 Arapahoe Street, Denver, CO 80202. (On 16th St. Mall, across from the Clock Tower)  Special events include a Canine Christmas, Ugly Sweater Night, 70s Night, along with the traditional St.Nikolaus Day, Krampus Nacht, and Trachten Nacht.  There are live performances daily, such as the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, German polka music, holiday hymns in multiple languages and German dancers.

Christmas City – German Christmas Market in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Christmas City is home to the famous Christkindlmarkt located at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  This event includes the usual German foods and beverages, German Christmas music, and features handmade crafts from more than 150 different vendors, including Käthe Wohlfarht, a Bavarian company that sells handmade ornaments, nutcrackers, and other collectibles from Germany.   There will be ice carving and glassblowing demonstrations. St. Nicholas takes residence in Christmas City and offers a special breakfast with him.  Enjoy the breathtaking 26-foot-tall Christkindlmarkt tree.
